Hi Karen
Thanks for the enlightening article - sadly all too true.
I have found that a cheap mineral supplement, chromium can work wonders to banish sugar cravings. The dose I use in practice is 200mcg of chromium (as chromium amino acid chelate) taken 3 x daily. This dose will usually stop or significantly reduce sugar and refined carb cravings within a few days to a week. This is considered a high dose but is not toxic in any way (it has taken me quite a few years of experimenting with different doses and different types of chromium and this is the one that works and very quickly). Some people need to maintain this dose for up to 12 months to successfully live sugar free without fighting cravings, most can reduce the dose after 3 months.
